I’ve mentioned before how much I like receiving emails from people that are using my tutorials or reading my blog posts – for some reason, at least to me it eclipses the positive feedback I get on my design projects. I’m not 100% sure why but I think the feeling of helping someone out is a lot better than the feeling of what is essentially selling something (albeit a service).
Earlier this week I received a comment on one of my posts from a certain Andrew Probert. For those of you that don’t know Andrew has had an amazing design career – from working on storyboards and the design of the DeLorean in Back To The Future to working extensively on Star Trek, even designing the Starship Enterprise D. Other projects include Streethawk and Airwolf (among a long list of others), two huge shows from my youth.
I must admit after receiving Andrew’s comment I spent a little too long looking through the images on his website. I’m a massive fan of any kind of art and I’m very biased towards non-computer generated work lately, perhaps thats me rallying against the nature of the very commercial work I produce for my job. Looking at the images on Andrew’s site (some of which I’ve included here) it’s clear to see that Andrew is an incredibly talented individual.
I think it’s fantastic that Andrew is now working with Cheetah3D and I’m sure his amazing art skills will convert well to Cheetah. From speaking to Andrew it sounds like he’s working on some really interesting projects at the minute so I would urge you to take a look at his portfolio and keep an eye out for his future work!
