I found myself in need of a 40s style illustration of an air hostess recently and after a lot of searching the various stock photo sites that I have access to I quickly found out it wasn’t going to happen. A quick change of approach and I found a 10 minute tutorial showing me how to convert a photograph and give it the style I was looking for. Despite the fact that I use Photoshop every day and have done for a lot of years now, I rarely use it for photo work – it’s almost always for website visuals – there’s plenty I haven’t experimented with.

It’s not perfect but it more than did the job!
